Our mission to provide greater meaning to the lives of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities means that we must increase our presence in the communities around us and we must reach a larger audience to maximize our returns.
We have teamed up with Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth and are excited that they are hosting our event. The parking lot is HUGE and the routes have been designed to run along the Trinity River as an out and back course.
We believe in community involvement for the individuals we serve, and as always our water/aid stops will be manned by the very people you help support. It’s a big source of pride for them and they work hard getting ready for the big day.
LOCATION:
Our Boo!Run will occur on SATURDAY OCTOBER 26, 2013
at 8:00am at Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth.
START TIMES:
The half-marathon will start at 8:00am. The 10k and the 5K walk/run will each stagger start shortly after that. Kids’ Fun!Run to start sometime after 5K.
ROUTES:
Our run features routes of 5K (3.1mi), 10K (6.2mi), and a half-marathon (13.1mi). All routes start at Panther Island Pavilion and run along the Trinity River as an out and back course. The 5K stays on top of the levee, while the 10K and Half-Marathon go down the low water dam at La Grave Field and up the other side of the levee and continue out towards Gateway Park until you reach the respective turn around points.
PACKET PICKUP:
Preregistration packet pickup is available on site the day of the event or at Fort Worth Running Company on Thursday and Friday October 24th and 25th from 4pm-till close.
SPECIAL NOTES:
All routes close at noon and all participants must cross the finish line by that time. Those participants still on the course at noon will be provided a complimentary ride back to the start/finish line. Any participant under the age of 13 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while out on the course. Friendly and well behaved pets are welcome and must be on a leash at all times. We have age group awards! Age groups start at 9 and Under and go all the way to 70+. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each race, male and female, will receive an award. If you’re an overall winner for your race, male and female, you get a special award and a spot on the podium.
